I downloaded the Word 2003 version, and installed it without apparent issues. I rebooted and opened Word, but I can't find any trace of Writespace. I'm running Vista.

I'm going to close this one now as most people have moved on from 2003 to 2007 and 2010.

Hi,

WriteSpace is very handy when using with single monitor. However, I am currently working with my laptop and an external monitor under Windows 7 x64 and Office 2007. WriteSpace can't selectively output to the external monitor. This is not very convenient then. Could you implement the option to select the output monitor?

Great plugin! But the floating "Ln:" at the bottom right corner, is it the word count? It doesn't align well and I can't see what's after "Ln:". I'm using Vista with Word 2007.

I also downloaded the Office2003 version and got nothing - eg. the install was successful, but the app is invisible and un-invokable (if that's a word). My configuration is Office2003 on WinXPSP3 on a Thinkpad T60.

I like the idea, am a regular DarkRoom user, and recently installed the Google Chrome WriteSpace app. A Firefox app would be most preferred, but the Word add-in looked too good to pass up. Where's it hiding?

This is an excellent add-on. If you're taking suggestions, I'd like to see either an extra space between paragraphs, or an automatic tab at the start of paragraphs just for viewing purposes. If you manually insert a tab, it shows up in your document and then you have to manually remove it--for every paragraph. I'd also like a draggable top/bottom margin. Or at least a single line space between the top of the screen and a draggable margin along the bottom.

Otherwise it's my favorite add-on for Word.

Rated 4 Stars (out of 5) - This is exactly the program I've been waiting for--a distraction-free word processor that is integrated into MS Word. I've tried the others, and have had issues importing them. A few things I'd like to see is a drag and drop margin for the top and bottom (I love the "typewriter scrolling" feature of WriteMonkey) and an auto-tab function or an extra space between paragraphs for ease of reading.

This is an excellent idea to implement the distract-free environment with Word. Great job!

I would like to add one suggestion here. We knew WriteSpace could change font type and color. But, the ability to change the background color is missing. Could you implement it into WriteSpace in the later release?

I think FocusWriter is a good example on showing how theme works. http://gottcode.org/focuswriter/

This is a great and productive piece of code, thank you for creating it. It takes a generous nature to give something like this to the world.

I agree with amengs that if one could change the background color (even if only to switch white for black) Writespace would be perfect. In a sunny room with a netbook, the contrast with a dark background is hard on the eyes during a long writing session.

I have the same issue; thought I would try it out and installed on my work PC for Word 2003. There is nothing within Word that gives any indication that Writespace is installed. Please let us know if there is an option we need to look for, an .ini to update or additional files to install as this looks great. And as another states, anything that works within Word is a plus.

I've tested quite a few programs similar and the simple fact that it can be used within word(therefore allowing it to be a .docx) sets it above the rest. I would ask if it's possible to have word count in the taskbar as that would be helpful. Thanks for a great product

Wonderful add-on, just what I've been looking for a long time: thank you very much.

I think the ability to change the background color of the text box, or just change background color, is important. On writting long texts, clear letters against black backgroud is hard for your eyes. So if cainrisen would like to make his/her contributtion, my happiness would be complete :-)
